Privacy Ordinance
HONG KONG PRODUCTIVITY COUNCIL POLICY ON PERSONAL DATA PRIVACY
The main provisions of
the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance came into effect in Hong Kong
on January 30, 2001.
This Fact sheet provides information on the obligations and policies
of the Hong Kong Productivity Council and associated companies under
this Ordinance.

Personal data hold by Hong Kong Productivity
Council

Hong Kong Productivity Council holds names, addresses, telephone
numbers, information relating to calls and billing and other
information necessary for the provision of telecommunications
related services. We also hold personal data relating to our
employees and employment applicants. |

Purpose

Our purpose in collecting and holding such data is to facilitate
our business as a provider of telecommunications and directory
services. Subject to the requirements of the Ordinance, we may
from time to time use personal data for direct marketing of
other products and services. We collect and use personal data
relating to employees and employment applicants for the purpose
of administering staff, training and career development. |

Transfer of personal data

Personal data may be transferred among Hong Kong Productivity
Council and associated companies. It may also be supplied to
outside parties for direct marketing or other purposes subject
to the provisions of the Ordinance. |

Access and correction of personal data

The Ordinance provides data subjects with rights to ascertain
whether Hong Kong Productivity Council holds personal data
relating to them, to obtain a copy of that data, and to correct
any data that is inaccurate. Requests for access and correction
should be in writing and addressed to:

A small fee may be charged to offset our administrative costs
in complying with access requests.
